Ingredients
- 3cupsall-purpose flour
- 1⁄2cupgranulated sugar
- 1tablespoonbaking powder
- 1⁄2teaspoonsalt
- 1⁄2cupbutterchilled and cubed
- 3⁄4cupcream or milk
- 1egg
- 1cupraisins
Instructions
- heat kitchen appliance to 375F.
- Sift along the flour, sugar, leavening and salt.
- Add the cubed butter into the flour mixture, coat and work into the flour by rubbing between your palms to flatten the butter into the flour till it resembles giant crumbs (see photos in post).
- during a separate bowl, beat along the cream and eggs.
- combine the egg mixture into the flour mixture to pile up.
- combine within the raisins.
- prove onto a floured surface, roll into a thick disk and take eight wedges.
- Transfer onto a lined baking sheet (I lined mine with slippy foil), brush with milk and bake 20-25 minutes or till golden.
